Slender digits tug on the edge of the twine, smile CURLING painted lips as it falls away from the box she holds in her palm. A MIX of chocolates   &   candies, each one imprinted with ELABORATE designs, already denoting that perhaps these aren’t any REGULAR treats found at a supermarket. She KNOWS just how energetic the young girl is, how the sugar is surely to affect her–

But what HARM could it bring other than her bouncing off the walls ?

❝  I was not sure which you would like, hardcandies, or chocolates, so I bought a little of both for you to take your pick from.  ❞

image

    “Woah!”

Light brown eyes widen with delight and fascination at the elaborately designed candies stacked ever so neatly in the box she was presented with, and the teen could only stare for a moment in appreciation. They almost looked too nice to touch, let alone eat. But of course, despite it being a passing thought, that wasn’t not really something that would stop Miko.

And just like that, the moment of appreciation was over with a pop of one of the little chocolates into her mouth.

“Mm! These are so good! Did you make these yourself or are you, like, best friends with a sweets chef?”

||   IT WAS A true shame that they were not on a level close enough for him to smack her upside the head— what he truly wanted to do with that comment laid out for him. Instead however he smiles & purposely sits next to her, looming over her work & textbooks grudgingly. High schooler by the looks of what she had been mulling over. Adorable.  "What a fun subject that project must be for.

You’ll fail at this rate— along with whatever class this homework is for as well."

Grin shifts into that of a grimace as he takes a seat at her table, no doubt with equal intent to bug her as she initially had greeted him with. Who invited him, anyway?

“What do you know?” Covering the book and loose leaf notes from his nosy gaze, she instinctively flips a strand of her hot pink streak out of her face with a notable irritation. Miko was doing her best to not sound defensive, but this was certainly the last guy she wanted to see her struggle. “I do just fine, thanks.”

Head canon for my Dragon Age verse because it’s not going to leave me alone until I get it down. Probably need to anyway

As her family is a very big (if underground) support structure of Seheron’s rebels, they have very good relations with the Fog Warriors. Since her parents agreed to have her trained, such warriors have for the most part been her teachers, and as such, her real fighting ability resembles that style. I head canon that Fog Warriors have a distinct resemblance to Wushu style martial arts (x, x, x) in their fighting technique which allows the quick and deadly strikes needed when setting assaults on the Qunari and Tevinter forces.

Though young and inexperienced, and still very much learning, Miko is actually rather skilled in it, likely fueled by her dedication and excitement to learn something outside of the lessons of a Lady. Naturally, her choice is the broadsword (x) (even if her actual class would likely stray more into a Rogue class) alongside the study of the alchemic branch needed for the creation of the fog – a method which she is surprisingly taken with (when her attention isn’t focused elsewhere).

Where she appears sloppy, however, is when she comes to Skyhold and becomes enthralled with/tries to emulate the southern style, demonstrated by her seemingly uncoordinated slashings or copying what is clearly meant to be an imitation of greatsword/two-handed techniques. Because where her lessons had focused on sharp and agile strikes, many of southern Thedas’s sword techniques deal in brute strength and ‘killing quick by killing hard’, which is kind of the opposite of what she’s naturally used to.

So it’s in these times where she comes off as an absolute greenhorn-novice. Which she technically still is – she’s not about to go running off and taking out mass numbers with her current skill – but not nearly as much as she can appear trying to fight ‘southern’.
